More on Towels...
A friend stopped me today and made a point of telling me that when she has stayed at a Doubletree for more than one night, and she has hung her towels on the rack, they have left them alone.So maybe my cynicism is unfounded. Maybe... Any other data out there?

It has worked for me in hotels that place such notices - towel on the rack is not replaced; towel on the floor gets replaced.
