Dirty hands...

What a pleasure to have an evening home tonight to play in dirt. I planted spinach, turnips, radishes and Kohlrabi OUTSIDE tonight. As I planted, I added big handfuls of this composted mulch I made last fall, turning up earth worms in the process.

Inside, my kitchen table is crowded with the starter pots that I've started filling in the last few weeks. Last weekend I started tomatoes and an eggplant. They join the three or four varieties of peppers I started a couple weeks ago. I also started a few flowers (annuals) for porch pots.

And don't forget the rhubarb that is coming up, or the garlic that I planted last fall.

As I get older I get more excited about little things like seeds that sprout.
