Penultimate...

I've always loved that word, penultimate. Tonight was my penultimate church board meeting.

After December 31 I will be off of all volunteer boards and committees. No hospital. No orchestra. No church. No nothing...

I'm sure someday I'll recommit to something. Volunteer groups can be a fun way to connect to other people and make a contribution to something you think is important. But right now the idea of shedding all committee meetings is really appealing.

I'm taking off Friday evening for a weekend retreat. Be back Sunday evening.
